Under Oil Surge Arresters

Under Oil Disc and Under Oil Arrester

The arrester meant for under oil application is primarily used for the protection of transformers and is designed to limit surge voltage by discharging the surge current into the ground.

Applications

Predominantly used by OEMs
Protection of transformer windings

Advantages

Shorter lead wires reduce the voltage levels for equipment protection
Vertical/Horizontal mounting
Effective heat transfer to cool the oil surrounding the arrester, which allows a faster recovery period after an impulse operation
Problems arising from Flashover due to pollution, shorting of arrester, wildlife and moisture ingress can be overcome
